El Villar de Arnedo
Rioja Oriental

El Villar de Arnedo

Its land is mainly dedicated to growing grapes, almonds, olives and cereals. All done as dry farming, despite the nearby River Ebro around 5 km away.

El Villar de Arnedo is a fairly ancient municipality, as witnessed by the archaeological remains found there: a flint workshop in Las Costeras (1500-3000 BC), Celtic-Iberian and Roman ceramics on the Era Alta (high plain) and the walls of the wineries.

Its exquisite gastronomy stands out, the highlights being garlic soup and ‘frying pan soups’.
