The exodus from the land in the 1960s put an end to stockbreeding in the municipality and made a negative impact on the industrial and service sectors too.

Its economy mainly revolves around almonds, olives and vineyards, the last-mentioned being the most notable. Nevertheless, there are still a couple of small companies producing and selling mushrooms, an activity that generates an increasing amount of income for the village.

As for the service sector, the key elements are the country guest houses and the bars in the village.
