Bodegas de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal
Marqués de Riscal has always been a pioneer company and benchmark in the sector. In 1858, it became the first winery in Rioja to produce wines according to the Bordeaux methods, in 1972, the first bodega to promote the Rueda Denomination of Origin -where its famous white wines are made- and in 1991 Barón de Chirel was created, their first wine of high expression (Barón de Chirel 1986).
It inaugurated the City of Wine, with a building designed by architect Frank O. Gehry, which is the most avant-garde work carried out to date by a Spanish winery.
