Finca La Medika "viñedo Singular" By Juan Valdelana

CHARACTERISTICS: Singular Garnacha vineyard planted in 1920, located next to the Sanatorio de Leza. The estate’s name, “La Medika,” honors a woman who practiced as a doctor. Her dedication, professionalism, and commitment left a lasting impression on all patients and families affected by tuberculosis. Geomorphologically, it is situated on an alluvial slope with tertiary materials. The predominant sandstone gives it a sandy-loam texture with calcareous content. The soil is calcareous, with sandstone elements, low retention capacity, low fertility, and good drainage. Organic viticulture. VARIETIES: Garnacha PRODUCTION: Traditional production through carbonic maceration, intracellular fermentation with whole grapes, without crushing. Spontaneous fermentation in open bocois. Aged for 1 year in the same bocois where alcoholic fermentation took place. VISUAL PHASE: Cherry red with violet rim, clean and bright. AROMATIC PHASE: Potent on the nose, with a herbal profile. Hints of rosemary, lavender, and sweet spices like cumin and hemp. TASTE PHASE: On the palate, it recalls fruits like fig and date, with a retronasal sensation of raspberry and plum jam. It is fresh, with an electric acidity balanced by tannic concentration. Fine, elegant, and extraordinarily unique.
