At the head of the Control Board Plenary is its President, who coincides with the President of the Board of Directors of the Rioja Wine Interprofessional Organisation and who is responsible for the legal and institutional representation of the Board before any third party entity and any other representation that the Plenary may delegate to him/her.

Composed of: the Chairman of the Board, its Vice-Chairman, the Chairmen of each of the Working Committees and members of the associations. It is participated by the Secretary-Director General and the heads of the departments responsible for the issues to be dealt with, and also responsible for resolving procedural issues, although all the decisions it adopts must be assessed and, where appropriate, ratified by the Plenary of the Board.

It shall carry out the control activity of the QDO Rioja in person and administratively.

First executive of the Board, with the usual delegations that other companies may have for their general manager or managing director. He reports to the Plenary by informing the Chairman.

Responsible for programming, developing and executing the promotional campaigns approved by the Control Board Plenary.

Responsible for all the economic and administrative organisation of the entity.

This is a transversal department in charge of providing legal advice and the investigation of non-sanctioning proceedings in the exercise of public powers subject to administrative law.

In charge of carrying out the inspection and, where appropriate, all the necessary controls to verify compliance with the Terms and Conditions and certification, in accordance with its accreditation in the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17065 standard.

Its Director is independent of the Secretary-Director General and the Plenary in the performance of inspection, control and certification functions. It is made up of supervisors and its activity is based on an annual inspection objectives plan approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
