Description of the municipality

Villarroya is a small village that was able to maintain its population at around 300 in the past thanks to the nearby coal mines.

 

With the exodus from the land the municipality abandoned coal mining and the local people had to move to other towns and cities nearby.

 

At present, the census only shows 5 inhabitants.
