Rioja Alta
Huércanos
Located in the centre of Rioja Alta, Huércanos is well connected and contains very interesting areas around it, among them the monastery at San Millán de la Cogolla, a World Heritage Site.
Its landscape consists of different levels of glacis (forward slopes), the lowest one coinciding with the terraces of the River Najerilla.
Vineyards represent almost 75% of the locality’s cultivated surface area, followed by cereals (mainly barley), potatoes and vegetables.
