Gonzalo de Berceo Restaurant

Gonzalo de Berceo Restaurant

We have created the perfect place for lovers of fine dining and literary tradition. Our restaurant, "Entre Barricas," pays tribute to Gonzalo de Berceo, the illustrious poet who, in the late 12th century, became the first known writer to express his work in Spanish. Like him, we strive for excellence in every dish we serve. Our cuisine draws inspiration from the values of sustainability and locality. With every bite, you can savor the freshness of locally sourced products and seasonal ingredients, emphasizing the importance of local agriculture. But the magic of our dishes doesn't end there. To enhance the flavors even further, we use ancient vine shoots and grapevines from the vineyards of Badarán. These special elements become the masters of ceremonies as they grill and infuse the traditional lamb cutlets, taking your senses on an unforgettable culinary journey, all while contributing to sustainable agriculture. But the experience goes beyond just the food. At "Restaurante Gonzalo de Berceo," we offer something unique: a gastronomy service that includes an exciting tasting accompanied by a guided tour. Before indulging in our delicious cuisine, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the history and secrets behind our dishes. It's a complete culinary experience you'll never forget.

Sobre la bodega

Bodegas DAVID MORENO is a family winery located in La Rioja Alta. We use Tempranillo and Garnacha variety for Reds and Viura for White wines. After a meticulous selection of the grapes, we elaborate a complete range of quality wines: whites, rosés and red youngs, crianzas, reservas and grandes reservas under the brand DAVID MORENO and MONASTERIO DE YUSO. We call our author wines Vado de la Reina and Vobiscum.

Our wine tradition goes back to 1912 when Ponciano Moreno built the first winery with a capacity of 18,000 liters. In 1963 the family moved to Barcelona looking for a better future than the agricultural towns of that time. At the end of 1981, David Moreno decided to leave his position as Technical Engineer to return to his village, put into practice the wine knowledge that his grandfather and his father had transmitted to him and make of his DREAM of being a winemaker a reality.

In 1988 the construction of the current winery began, which has been expanding very little by little, adapting to our growth, new technologies and the needs of our customers.

Our winery provide our wines with the unbeatable temperature and humidity conditions necessary for their proper aging and their subsequent conservation in the bottle.

In a corner of La Gran Cueva we find the Vobiscum Sanctuary, a lattice space that holds a small batch of the best french oak barrels where our Signature Wine ages.

The walk through the cellar reveals many corners that tell us about the history, the culture and the passion of DAVID MORENO for wine.
