Description of the municipality

Leza de Río Leza’s economy is mainly based on agriculture and stockbreeding.

Stone and chalk is also quarried locally.

A major fall in the locality’s population was due to the impact of technologies and better communications elsewhere, which obliged  local people to find work in other places from 1950 onwards.
