Description of the municipality

The main economic activity is agriculture, especially grape-growing.

 

In the last 15 years a major transformation has taken place in the sector: since the land concentration process all the vineyards have been modernized and restructured, meaning that the locality now produces some of the best grapes in the Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja.

 

Wheat, barley, potatoes, peas, green beans and, to a lesser extent, other vegetables are grown in Cihuri. There are also two stockbreeders with flocks of sheep in the village.
