February 9, 2025 – Last night’s Goya Awards had an unmistakable Rioja flavor. In the year of its Centenary, the Denomination took on a special role at the gala, going beyond its position as main sponsor to include nominees, winners, and guests in the celebration.

Countless celebrities passed through a gold-adorned space where they toasted with Rioja and signed an impressive large-format commemorative bottle. Among them, the newly crowned Best Leading Actress, Carolina Yuste, congratulated Rioja on its milestone anniversary. The guest list also included notable names such as Alejandro Amenábar, Belén Rueda, Estrella Morente, Arturo Valls, Juana Acosta, Urko Olazabal, Aixa Villagrán, Eneko Sagardoy, Jorge Drexler, and Manu Baqueiro.

Some attendees even paid special tribute to Rioja by incorporating gold details into their outfits. Cayetana Guillén Cuervo dazzled in an all-gold ensemble, while Macarena Gómez and her husband Aldo Comas wore shoes with golden accents. Hiba Abouk and Marta Belenguer chose to highlight the color in their clutches, showing their admiration and fondness for Rioja wines.

All attendees at the gala had the chance to toast with white and red Rioja wines, both during the pre-ceremony cocktail and the official afterparty, using the two thousand Rioja-branded wine glasses specially sent to Granada for the occasion.

Fernando Ezquerro, President of the Regulatory Board of the DOCa Rioja, received warm congratulations from the many personalities who visited the Rioja space, including government officials such as Vice Presidents María Jesús Montero and Yolanda Díaz, and Minister of Culture Ernest Urtasun. He took the opportunity to share with them the various commemorative events Rioja has planned in the coming months.
