Bodegas Álvarez Alfaro
It was in 1890 when Pablo Álvarez Alfaro built his first winery in Aldeanueva de Ebro, and in 1895 he established the first wine sales office in San Sebastián. From the beginning, his philosophy of work was to elaborate only the grapes of his own vineyards to produce wines of proven quality. We are the fourth generation dedicated to oenology and viticulture; in 1999 the spirit was renewed and Bodegas y Viñedos Álvarez Alfaro was born, a limited company, directed and managed by us, its direct heirs; with the aim of capturing the centuries-old family tradition in the production and aging of wines. Respect for what our elders have left us and perpetuate in time is our essence
The disposition of 62 hectares of own vineyards; and cultivate them directly, allows us a rigorous control of the entire field process. With the desire to always obtain the highest quality in our grapes.
The varieties we grow are basically Tempranillo (80%) and Garnacha (10%). We also have some plots of Mazuelo (8%) and Graciano (2%).
During the whole process of the field it is scrupulously maintained: the respect for the environmental quality of the environment in the vineyards, and the objective of approaching the zero waste in our grapes.
The harvesting of the grapes is done in the most delicate way, and immediately they are transported to the winery. In this way we get them to maintain their properties and potential intact, in order to transmit them to our wines.
The successive tastings of the finished wines allow us to decide the final destination of each one.
